Galapagia solitaria Scudder, 1893 View in CoL

Distribution in Galápagos. —

Baltra, Española, Fernandina, Floreana, Genovesa, Isabela, San Cristóbal, Santa Cruz, Santa Fé, Santiago, and Seymour Islands.

Habitat. —

Ground level and herbaceous plants, ranging from arid to humid forest environments.

Remarks. —

This species shows considerable variation in size, body proportions, and coloration throughout its range. Male genitalia, however, exhibit little variation. Although the entire Galápagos population is treated as one species, genetic studies will be necessary to reassess its taxonomic status and unveil its evolutionary history and dispersal patterns across the archipelago.
