Replaced synonym: Celosia paniculata L. (1753) .

Lectotype (Reveal & Nicolson in Taxon 38: 504. 1989): Clayton 576 (BM-000051634).

Current name: Iresine rhizomatosa Standl. View in CoL ( Amaranthaceae ).

Note: Shinners (in Taxon 11: 141. 1962) points out that this is a new name for Iresine celosia L. (1759) , itself an illegitimate renaming of Celosia paniculata L. (1753) .
