General range of occurrence: South Asia, Southeast Asia ( Varshney, Smetacek, 2015) Occurrence and status in India: It is very common almost all over the plains of India, and is not threatened as a species ( Kunte, 2000) Host plants of the larvae: Aristolochia bracteolata Lam. , A. griffithii Hook.f. & Thomson ex Duch. , A. indica L., A. tagala Cham. , Dioscorea wallichii Hook.f. , Thottea siliquosa (Lam.) Ding Hou ( Wynter-Blyth, 1957; Kunte, 2000; Robinson et al., 2010; Nitin et al., 2018).
