Pocobletinae new subfamily ( Figs 3 View FIGURE 3 , 10 View FIGURE 10 — see TAXONOMY section for details)
Silva-Moreira & Hormiga (2021) recognized the Pocobletus clade, a lineage that includes Jalapyphantes Gertsch & Davies , Selenyphantes Gertsch & Davies , and Pocobletus Simon. These genera were considered part of Linyphiinae by Tanasevich (2025). In this study, we elevate this group to subfamily rank with original composition and diagnosis of Silva-Moreira & Hormiga (2021).
This clade is supported by 17 synapomorphies, three of which are non-homoplasious ( Fig. 10 View FIGURE 10 ): a concave-coiled tegulum (char 59), an exposed column (char 86), and the presence of a membranous epigynal sac or channel connecting the copulatory openings to the copulatory ducts (char 150). Its monophyly received full support in all analyses and matrices in this study ( Fig. 3 View FIGURE 3 , Tables 5 and 6) and in the analyses of Silva-Moreira & Hormiga (2021) (q. v. for a more in-depth analysis of this clade).
