Lectotype (designated here by Jury): Herb. Clifford: 87, Eryngium 1, sheet A (labelled “3”) (BM-000558216) .

Current name: Eryngium planum L. View in CoL ( Apiaceae ).

Note: Jury & Southam (in Jarvis & al. in Taxon 55: 212. 2006) indicated "Herb. Clifford: 87, Eryngium 1, sheet A (labelled “4”)” as the lectotype. Unfortunately sheet A is labelled “3”, and sheet B is labelled “4”, making this type choice ineffective. However, a typification is now formalised here.
