WESTERN LONG-BEAKED ECHIDNA Zaglossus bruijnii (Peters & Doria, 1876) (CR)

Remarks: The specimen was obtained during the circumnavigation voyage by the Italian Warship Magenta . On 2 May 1866, Enrico H. Giglioli and Filippo Defilippi visited the Botanical Garden of Bogor (Java, Indonesia), where its Director Johannes Elias Teijsmann (1808- 1882) gave them some specimens of “rare animals” (Gi- glioli 1876).
