Note — Breynia fruticosa View in CoL is locally common in China, e.g., around Canton, an area visited by several colonial botanists in former centuries. Therefore, it was once cultivated in botanical gardens in Europe, among others, in Berlin in 1832 (as reported by an anonymous collection in KIEL) and in Bogor in 1826.
