Distribution. China ( Anhui, Guizhou, Zhejiang), Algeria, Japan ( Hokkaido, Honshu), Russia (Kuril Islands) ( García Morales et al. 2016).
Host plants. Poaceae : Bambusa spp. , Indocalamus tessellatus , Sasa palmata , S. veitchii , and Sasamorpha borealis ( García Morales et al. 2016) .
Remark. Unachionaspis bambusae has only two pairs of pygidial lobes developed.
