In the original description and figures of the species ( Pardi 1941), the absence of peribuccal lamellae, and the presence of the characters 1, 3, 5, 7, 8, 9 and 10 was clearly stated. Moreover, Pardi (1941) considered M. granatai to be closely related to M. intermedius .
