Macrobiotus marcusi de Barros, 1942
( Table 1 View TABLE 1 )
The original description, including original drawings, reported the absence of cuticular lamellae around the buccal cavity, and the presence of the characters 3, 5, 7, 8 and 10 ( de Barros 1942). The egg processes are each enclosed in a hemispheric capsule as in M. intermedius , but the conical apices of the pillar-like structures protrude through the capsule, as in Minibiotus pilatus Claxton, 1998 . Moreover, de Barros (1942) reported that the species most similar to M. marcusi is Macrobiotus crassidens Murray, 1907 . Claxton (1998) considered M. marcusi almost certainly belonging to Minibiotus , but she did not transfer this species to that genus.
