Macrobiotus lazzaroi Maucci, 1986

(= Macrobiotus spallanzanii Maucci, 1973 : another species was previously named M. spallanzanii and described by Perty in 1835)

Maucci (1973, 1986) referred to the presence of small peribuccal lamellae. However, their presence or the presence of papulae could not be confirmed in the type material. The characters 1, 9 and 10 are present according to Maucci (1973). In the holotype (ventral position), the level of stylet support insertion has a pt = 65.6 (character 5), the ventral lamina a pt = 56.3 (character 6) and the macroplacoid row a pt = 40.6 (character 7). In general, the shape of the bucco-pharyngeal apparatus does not resemble that seen in the species described above, the buccal tube being wider and its double curvature apparently absent.

Granulation on legs is absent.
