Remarks
Ione ovata View in CoL parasitizes the ghost shrimps Neotrypaea uncinata View in CoL , Notiax brachyophthalma View in CoL and Callichirus seilacheri (the senior synonym of C. garthi Retamal, 1975 fide Sakai 1999) ( Muñoz 2001), although Muñoz and Olmos (2007) listed only the first two hosts. Prevalence has been recorded up to 4% in N. uncinata ( Muñoz and George-Nascimento 1999) View in CoL , 2.2% N. brachyophthalma View in CoL and 0.1% in C. seilacheri ( Muñoz 2001) . This bopyrid has been recorded for two localities in the north-central region of Chile (Concepción and Puerto Montt) from intertidal sand–mud beaches ( Shiino 1964; Muñoz and George-Nascimento 1999) but is much less abundant than Ionella agassizi , which has been reported from the same localities.
