Quasimus subovalis Fleutiaux, 1930

Quasimus subovalis Fleutiaux, 1930: 643 (original description; published type locality: Hoa-Binh, Vietnam); Chakraborty & Chakrabarti, 2006: 197 (catalogue; India: “ West Bengal ”).

Type Locality. Vietnam: Hòa Bình Province [Tonkin: Lac-Thô, Hoa-Binh] .

Type Depository. Type, SU ( MNHN) .

General Distribution. China, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam ( Schimmel & Tarnawski 2009).

Remark. Fleutiaux (1930: 643) listed “Bengale” as part of this species’ distribution. Historically, the Bengal region encompassed present-day Bangladesh, parts of Bhutan and Nepal, and several Indian states including eastern Assam, Bihar, Jharkhand, Meghalaya, Sikkim, and West Bengal. However, due to the lack of conclusive evidence and absence of material-based records, this region is not specifically included here. As no relevant literature with verifiable specimen data from India was found, this species is not considered to occur in India.
