Crypnoidus chatterjeei Fleutiaux, 1928b: 253 (original description; published type locality: Dehra-Dun , India).
Tropihypnus chatterjeei ( Fleutiaux, 1928b) : Fleutiaux, 1932: 254 (synonymised Crypnoidus with Tropihypnus ); Stibick, 1968: 185 ( India: Uttarakhand); Stibick, 1969: 81 (distribution confirmed; India: Uttarakhand); Cate, 2007: 167 (catalogue; “UP” as India: Uttaranchal, Uttar Pradesh); Schimmel & Tarnawski, 2008: 648 (catalogue; “ India: Darjeeling, Dehra-Dun”); Gupta et al., 2018: 501 (erroneous spelling “Tlcuúeaix” instead of Fleutiaux; catalogue; “2B” as India: Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand).
Type Locality. India: Sivalik, Dehradun District , Uttarakhand [North British India: Siwaliks, Dehra-Dun] .
Type Depository. Type, SU (??).
Distribution in India. Uttarakhand (Almora District, Dehradun District).

Remark. The type material is likely housed in MNHN, but verification was not possible. As the presence of this species in Himachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, and West Bengal requires confirmation, these localities are not included here. The species is considered endemic to India.

Crypnoidus gardneri Fleutiaux, 1928b: 253 (original description; published type locality: Chakrata , India; another locality- India: Himachal Pradesh).
Tropihypnus gardneri ( Fleutiaux, 1928b) : Fleutiaux, 1932: 254 (synonymised Crypnoidus with Tropihypnus ); Stibick, 1968: 183 ( India: Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand); Cate, 2007: 167 (catalogue; “HP” as India: Himachal Pradesh; “UP” as India: Uttaranchal, Uttar Pradesh); Schimmel & Tarnawski, 2008: 648 (catalogue; “ India: Himachal Pradesh, Kotgarh”); Gupta et al., 2018: 501 (catalogue; “2A” as India: Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir ; “2B” as India: Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand).

As the presence of this species in Jammu & Kashmir and Uttar Pradesh requires confirmation, these localities are not included here.
