Neoperla tingwushanensis Wu, 1935 View in CoL
Neoperla tingwushanensis Wu, 1935: 234 View in CoL (original description of male).
Neoperla tingwushanensis View in CoL : Wu 1938: 120 (supplementary description of male and female); Claassen 1940: 167 (catalog); Wu 1962: 148 (supplementary descriptions of male and new provincial record from Yunnan); Illies 1966: 279 (catalog); Zwick 1973: 260 (catalog); Du et al. 1999: 63 (catalog).
Neoperla tingwashanensis : Banks 1940: 178 (misspelled name).
Distribution. China: Guangdong (Zhaoqing City, Dinghushan Mountain (Ting-wu-shan)) Province. The type locality of the species, 'Ting-wu-shan,' is very likely the Cantonese pronunciation (ding6 wu6 saan1) of Dinghushan Mountain, which is located in the northeast of Zhaoqing City, Guangdong Province. Thus, we suspect that the discrepancy might be due to either an error in the Pinyin system or the use of an older romanization system by the collector. Additionally, due to the absence of aedeagal characteristics for this species, N. tingwushanensis is removed from the species list of Yunnan.
