Redescription. Body ovate ( Fig. 3), about 1.35-1.50 limes longer than wide (body length: 3.92-5.20, body width: 2.GS-3.52). Dorsal surface yellowish brown lo dark brown, coriaJ _punctmes and head usually dark brov..rn.

Head dorsally finely punctured with more or less colourless hardly visible punctures, sometimes almost impunctate; clypeus almost as long as paraclypei, somewhat broadened apically, impuuclate, except for a pair of subapical setigerous punctures bearing long hair-like selae; each paraclypeus with a. submarginal row of 12-19 seligerous punctures bearing Jong hair-like setac, peglike selae absent (Fig. 4); eyes reddish brown or castaueous, each with a long apical seta, ocular index about 3.8-4.6; ocelli small, yellowish browu to reddish brown, ocellar index ·about 7.0-12.0; distance between ocelli about 6-10 times a distance of oceUus from eye; antennae yeUowish bro,Vll to brown, its 3rd segment 1.13-1.40 times long·er than the 211d segment; bucculae very high in their posterior part (Fig. 6), sMated and wrinkled; anterior half of gular plate impunclale: rostrum yellowish brown to brown, reaching 01· almost reaching mid coxae.

Pronotum broad, more or less purwtured, sometimes almost impunctate bearing a [ew colourless punctuees behind the head and i. _u the posterior half of a disc; umboncs almost uuswollen; anterior maJ·gin angularly concave centraUy; lateral mar-gins of pronotal dis(' with 40-65 very long hair-Wm selae.

Scutellum densely punctmcd, except for its anterolaleral angles, punctures from colourless to brown; basal half of scutellar disc sometimes slightly convex, usually clearly lransversely ,,vrinkled.

Corium clearly punctul'ed, with dark ptmcturcs as large as or sligbtly larger than those on sculellum; clavus with one complete and two partiul rows of punctures; mesocoriurn with two rows of punctures paralleling clavo-corial suture, remaining surface of mesocorial disc almost evenly punctured; costa with a row of about 40-55 very long hair-like selae; membrane semibyalinc, sometimes slighlly mjlky-white, clearly extending beyond lhe lip of abdomen.

Propleuron imp11nctate.,vith a few wrinkles close lo coxae; proslernal carinae distinct and hjgh (Fig.!:l); meso- and metaplcw·al evapOl'aloria typical of the genus, lateral parts of meso- and metapleuron usually,vilh wrinkles and sometimes with a (cw punciure8.

Hind tibiae slightly cur-vcd apicalJy, its dorsal side somewhat flattened and bearing munerous long hair-like selae.

Abdominal sterna finely punctured, segments covered with long hah·-like setae. Male genital pygophore with opening as in Pig. 15, paramere ·with numerous long setac (Fig. 10).

Types examined. Lectotype female (designated by Lis, 1996: 207): Tasmania, Hobart ( BMNH H) . Paralectotypes: 2 females, the same data as the lectotype ( BMNH) .

Distribution. New South Wales (first record), Northern Territory (first record), South Australia (lirst record), Tasmania.

Remarks. The specimens from Tasmanja and the islands in the southem parts of South Austmlia are clearly larger and paler in colou1· (more yellowish brown) thaJ 1 specimens from the rontinenlal Australia (Nortllern Tenitory. New South Wales. continental South Australia).
