Etymology: —The specific epithet “ guizhouensis ” refers to Guizhou Province, China, where the new taxon was collected.

Diagnosis:— Characterized by absence of longitudinal striations or germ slits on ascospores.

Holotype:— CHINA. Guizhou Province: Zunyi city, Xishui Country (28°19'22.23"N, 106°13'35.71"E), at 1166 m a.s.l., on dead culms of bamboo, 21 March 2024, Changtao Lu, Herb. 2024XS47 (GMB4908). Description:— Saprobic on decaying culm of bamboo, forming black round spots. Sexual morph : Ascomata 635–850 × 430–600 µm (x̅ = 733 × 529 µm), deeply immersed in host tissue, clypeus absent, solitary, scattered, black, subglobose, ostiole central, black, with a conical neck. Peridium 38 – 84 µm (x̅ = 46 µm) wide, thick-walled, comprised of two layers, outer layer dark brown, inner hyaline, cells of textura angularis. Paraphyses 1.6–4.4 µm (x̅ = 3.1) wide, hyaline, cylindrical, multi-guttulate, septate, unbranched. Asci 130–210 × 8.1–14.4 µm (x̅ = 174.8 × 11.0 um), 8-spored, cylindrical, unitunicate, short-pedicellate, apically rounded, with a trapezoidal, J+, apical ring, 1.7–2.2 × 3.4–4.4 µm (x̅ = 1.7× 3.4 µm). Ascospores 18.4–29.3 × 4.8–7.5 µm (x̅ = 24.5× 6.0 µm), lacking longitudinal striations, golden to light brown, unitunicate, smooth-walled, fusiform, rounded at ends, 1-septate at the centre, slightly constricted at the septum, often guttulate, surrounded by 1.0–7.7 µm (x̅ = 3.4 µm) thick mucilaginous sheath. Asexual morph : undetermined.

Habit and habitat: —Found on dead culms of bamboo in humid subtropical climate.
