(Figs 7- 12)

Diagnosis

This new species is similar to C. ern.sti in its general outline, but is easily recognizable by its moderately large yellowish brown body (5.50-6.85 mm in length), sparsely puncturation of mesocorium, and different number of submarginal setigerous punctures on head (5-8), pronotum (6-7) and costa (2-3); C. ernsti is smaller than C. multisetosus (4.95- 5.69 mm in length), its mesocorium is densely, evenly punctured, and number of setigerous punctures is, as follows - head (3-4), pronotum (5-6), costa (0-1).

Description

Body (Fig. 7) yellowish brown to castaneous, 5.50-6.85 mm in length, 3.15-4. 35 mm in width.

Head yellowish brown, 1.0- I. I mm in length; clypeus impunctate, entirely free, as long as paraclypei, without a pair of submarginal setigerous punctures; paraclypeal surface with tiny punctures; each paraclypeus with a submarginal row of 5-8 setigerous punctures bearing long hair-like setae; eyes redish-brown, narrow, each eye with the apical seta; ocular index 5.01-6.13; ocelli absent; rostrum yellowish brown to pale brown, extending beyond the mid coxae; length of antenna! segments: I 0.21-0.24, II 0.24-0.27, Ill 0.29-0.32, IV 0.34-0.41, V 0.43-0.49.

Pronotum pale brown to castaneous, 1.87- 1.93 times broader than long; its disc sparsely and shallowly punctate; each lateral margin with a row of 6-7 setigerous punctures bearing hair-like setae; posterior margin almost straight; propleuron pale brown, shining, bearing small punctures in the depression.

Scutellum triangular, strongly narrowed apically, about 1.12- 1.24 times longer than wide; puncturation of its disc sparse and irregular; corium with small, shallow punctures, clavo-corial suture absent, costa convex, separated from exocorium in its basal half, bearing 2-3 setigerous punctures; membrane pale brown, small, reaching or almost reaching the tip of abdomen.

Metapleural evaporatoirum almost reaching lateral margins of metapleuron, peritreme elongated.

Legs yellowish to pale brown, femora with numerous brown hairs; tibiae straight, bearing short brown spines; tarsi yellowish.
