Biology: The larvae are predators on the gall mite Phytoptus avellanae Nalepa, 1889 (Acari: Phytoptidae ), which induces bud galls on Corylus avellana ( Betulaceae ). They develop in the galls of the host and pupate there in a white cocoon.
Distribution: Widespread in Europe including Norway and Denmark.
