Type:— BOLIVIA. San Carlos: Mapiri , September 1907, O. Buchtien 1285 ( lectotype, designated here: HBG barcode HBG506724 !).

Notes: — Schlechter (1912) described N. buchtienii without informing the herbarium where the deposit was made, but it is known that he preferred the collection at B. The type specimen of N. buchtienii is believed to have been destroyed during World War II ( Butzin 1978, 1980); however, a duplicate is preserved in the HBG collection and it is designated here as a lectotype.
