COMMON NAME(S): Teak borer.
SYNONYM(S): Azygophleps flavitincta Hampson, 1910b ; Xyleutes sjostedti Aurivillius, 1910b ; Azygophleps kilimandjarae Le Cerf, 1914 .
IUCN STATUS: Not Evaluated (NE).
DISTRIBUTION: Angola, Burundi, Democratic Republic of Congo, Kenya, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, Rwanda, South Africa, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, Zimbabwe.
LOCALITY IN ZAMBIA: Teak Forests in Mulobezi in Western Province; Mutinondo Wilderness; Miombe [Latitude, - 12° 23.30’ S; Longitude, 31° 19.23’ E] and Kapishya Hotsprings Lodge [Latitude, - 11°10′16′′ S; Longitude, 31°36′03′′ E], in Muchinga Province; Kundalila [Latitude, - 12°23.53′ S; Longitude, 31°19.40′ E], in Central Province.
LARVAL HOSTPLANT(S): Known Larval foodplants include six Fabaceae species ( Senna bicapsularis L.; S. didymobotrya (Fresen.) H.S.Irwin & Barneby , S. siamea (Lam.) H.S.Irwin & Barneby and S. septemtrionalis (Viv.) H.S.Irwin & Barneby ), one Euphorbiaceae species ( Ricinus communis L.) and two Malvaceae species ( Hibiscus fuscus Garcke and Pavonia columella Cav. ).
