Lectotype (Reveal & Nicolson in Taxon 38: 504. 1989): Clayton 576 (BM-000051634).

Current name: Iresine rhizomatosa Standl. View in CoL ( Amaranthaceae ).

Note: A new name in Iresine for Celosia paniculata L. (1753) , and therefore illegitimate (see Shinners in Taxon 11: 141. 1962).
