Achenium lusitanicum Skalitzky, 1884: 98 View in CoL

Skalitzky (1884) described Achenium lusitanicum View in CoL from Azambuja. Assing (2010a) stated that his description was based on 1 ♂ (Lectotype) from Azambuja, plus 2 ♂♂ and 5 ♀♀ (Paralectotypes) with the same date as the Lectotype (cNHMW), 1 ♂ from Azambuja (ex-type, cRISNB), 1 ♀ (ex-type, cIRSNB), and 1 ♀ from “Lusitania”. The same author recorded 1 ♀ (elytra bicoloured) from Algarve, ArmaÇão de Pêra, 9/04/1979, leg. Tronquet (cTro), 1 ex., locality not specified, leg. Skalitzky (cAss), and 1 ex., locality not specified (cIRSNB). Seabra (1942) and Drugman & Outerelo (1997) repeated Azambuja while Boieiro et al. (1999) add Castro Marim (Algarve). Gamarra & Outerelo (2020) reported this species from Ribatejo and Algarve.

Distribution: Known from Morocco, Portugal and Spain (Sch̡lke & Smetana, 2015).
