Dolicaon haemorrhoum Erichson, 1840: 577

Described from “LusitAniA” (= PortugAl) by Gravenhorst (1802). Also reported by Fauvel (1877) from Lagos, as Dolicaon haemorrhous Erichson. Oliveira (1893) View in CoL refers this species from Azambuja as Dolicaon gracilis Gravenhorst, 1802 . Serrano (1981, 1983) reported it from Fonte do Veado, Arrábida (Estremadura) and Boieiro et al. (1999) from Castro Marim (Algarve). Assing (2005) mentioned that the original description was based on An unspecified number of syntypes from “LusitAniA” And thAt two of the specimens were found in the cMNHUB, designating one of these as a lectotype. Furthermore, this author recorded the species from Algarve, Silves, ArmaÇão de Pêra, 9/04/1979, 1 ex., leg. Tronquet (cTro), Estremadura, Lisboa, 1 ex. (cNHMW) and 4 ex. of location not specified (cHNHM, cNHMW, cAss). Gamarra & Outerelo (2020) reported it from Estremadura, Ribatejo, Alto Alentejo and Algarve.

Distribution: Widespread in Europe and also found in some countries of North Africa and Asia (Sch̡lke & Smetana, 2015).
