Diagnosis. Externally resembling I. irenae , but inner margin of corium bluish white and rest of forewing brown. Male antennae with subapical ring of black ( Fig. 27C View FIGURES 27 ). Male pygofer with long ventral process. Aedeagus with well-developed dorsal apodeme, aedeagal shaft with lateral lamellate process in distal half each process with serrated lateral margin, shaft apex with ventrally directed short pair of processes ( Figs 27 View FIGURES 27 GH).
Material examined. HOLOTYPE ♂, INDIA: Kerala: Maraiyur , 24.ii.1977, S. Viraktamath Coll. ( UASB).
Remarks. Both I. irenae and I. virescens have bright yellowsh green clavus. Development of lateral lamellate process on aedeagal shaft is unique for the species of Idioscopus occurring in the subcontinent.
