4. Ficus katherinae Hawkes. Phytologia View in CoL 3: 32. 1948. ≡ Ficus oblanceolata Rusby. Bull. View in CoL New York Bot. Gard. 6: 498. 1910, nom. illeg., non Rusby (1907: 446). TYPE:— BOLIVIA. New Brazil, 13 June 1902, R. S. Williams 1660 (lectotype, designated here: NY– 00025327!).
Nomenclatural notes:— Rusby (1910) described this taxon based on Williams 1660, but did not specify a herbarium, thus indicating all specimens of that gathering as syntypes (Art. 40.2 Note 1). Rusby’s name is a later heterotypic homonym of F. oblanceolata Rusby (1907: 446) . Hawkes (1948) proposed a replacement name for the homonym, but did not specify a herbarium. We designate NY–00025327 as the lectotype because it represents the most complete and diagnostic specimen. This taxon was mistakenly placed in the genus Ficus ; it likely belongs to the genus Naucleopsis Miquel (1853: 120) or a related group.
