Nomenclatural notes:— Pittier (1937) described this taxon based on Christ 49, but did not specify a herbarium, thus making all specimens of that gathering syntypes (ICN, Art. 40.2 Note 1). We designate VEN439 as the lectotype because it represents the most complete and diagnostic specimen.
