Nomenclatural notes:— Kunth & Bouché (1848) described this taxon but did not designate a type or herbarium. Berg & Villavicencio (2004) cited “Hort. Bot. Berol.” in B as the “ holotype ”, but since this happened after 1 January 2001 and they did not use the term “designated here” or an equivalent statement as required by Art. 7.11, their citation did not constitute an effective designation of a lectotype. We designate B100000051 as the lectotype because it represents the most complete and diagnostic specimen.
