Nomenclatural notes:— Pittier (1941) described this taxon based on Williams 13347, but did not specify a herbarium, thus making all specimens of that gathering syntypes (Art. 40.2 Note 1). We designate VEN362 as the lectotype because it represents the most complete and diagnostic specimen.
