Sebastianopolitanae”, Mangaritiba (“Margaritivi”), s.d., J. B. E. Pohl s.n. (lectotype, designated here: U–0004665 [digital image!]).

Nomenclatural notes:— Miquel (1853) described this taxon based on a Pohl collection, but did not specify a herbarium, thus making all specimens of that gathering syntypes (ICN, Art. 40.2 Note 1). Berg & Villavicencio (2004) cited a “ holotype ” at U, but since this happened after 1 January 2001 and they did not use the term “designated here” or an equivalent statement as required by Art. 7.11, their citation did not constitute an effective designation of a lectotype. We designate U0004665 as the lectotype because it represents the most complete and diagnostic specimen.
