Pittier 13162 (lectotype, designated here: VEN–373 [digital image!]; isolectotypes: A–00034528!, G–00438279 [digital image!], G–00438280 [digital image!], K–000512014!, NY–01043554!, PH –00014277 [digital image!], US –00090168!).

Nomenclatural notes:— Pittier (1937) described F. ovalifolia based on a collection made by Pittier 13162, but did not specify a herbarium, thus making all specimens of that gathering syntypes (Art. 40.2 Note 1). Berg (2007) cited Pittier 13162 stored at VEN as the “ holotype ”, but since this happened after 1 January 2001 and he did not use the term “designated here” or an equivalent statement as required by Art. 7.11, his citation was not an effective designation of a lectotype. We designate VEN373 as the lectotype because it represents the most complete and diagnostic specimen.
