94. Ficus fulva Sprengel. Syst. Veg. View in CoL 16(3): 779. 1826, nom. illeg., non Reinwardt ex Blume (1825: 478). TYPE:— BRAZIL. s.l., s.d., F. Sellow s.n. (lectotype, designated here: B–100000047!).
Nomenclatural notes:— Sprengel (1826) described this taxon based on a Sellow collection from Brazil. Berg & Villavicencio (2004) were first to indicate the holotype was stored in B. We located a single specimen in Sprengel’s herbarium at B (B100000047), which is congruent with the protologue and exhibits key elements matching its description, including the annotation “Brasilia, Sellow”. We therefore designate this specimen as the lectotype.
