Two ♀ syntypes. A ♀ with labels: “3 18 ♀ Guate-, mala, M H. d. Sauss.” [handwritten on ruled white card]; “ Paroecanthus niger Sauss. ” [handwritten on green paper]; “ Syntypus ” [printed on red paper]. Specimen set with wings folded; the left middle leg, the tibia and tarsi of the right middle leg and the tarsi of the right hind leg are missing. A ♀ with labels: “3 18 ♀ Guate- mala, M H. d. Sauss.” [handwritten on ruled white card]; “ Paroecanthus niger Sauss. ” [handwritten on green paper]; “ Syntypus ” [printed on red paper].
