General distribution: Afrotropical. Widespread in sub­Saharan Africa, South and Central Europe and Turkey.

Distribution in Israel: Coastal Plain.

Period of flight in Israel: July–September.

Host plants: Various Poaceae species. Pest of maize.

Distribution in Israel: Coastal Plain and Jordan Valley.
