Records: BenYakir et al. (2013).
General distribution: Palaeotropical. Widespread in tropical Africa, India, Pakistan and Indonesia.
Distribution in Israel: Invasive species. Discovered in July 2010 on sorghum and corn in Western Galilee.
Period of flight in Israel: Probably November–March. Larvae damaged crops in July ( BenYakir et al. 2013).
Host plants: Polyphagous. Severe pest of maize, sorghum, pearl millet, rice and sugarcane.
