Records: German–Israeli project. New to Israel.
General distribution: Palaearctic.All over Europe except polar areas, Middle East,
Mongolia. The species is replaced by Nymphula distinctalis (Ragonot, 1894) in the Far East Palaearctic Region ( Sasaki & Kasai 1994; Goater et al. 2005).
Distribution in Israel: Upper Jordan Valley. Period of flight in Israel: May–September.
Host plants: Water plants: Sparganium sp. ( Typhaceae ), Nuphar lutea ( Nymphaeaceae ).
