Records: German–Israeli project. New to Israel. General distribution: Eurasiatic. Morocco, all over Europe except polar areas, Middle East, along South Siberia to Far East and China.
Distribution in Israel: Upper Galilee and Golan Heights.
Period of flight in Israel: May–August.
Host plants: Carex spp. ( Cyperaceae ), Glyceria maxima and Phragmites spp. ( Poaceae ). The caterpillars are semiaquatic.
