Subspecies: G. c. arduus Cheesman & Hinton, 1924.

Distribution: Status uncertain but apparently rare; confined to arid areas in Al-Badia ( Fig. 27 View FIGURE 27 ).

Previous records: From 30 km to the east of as-Sukhnah ( Kock 1998).
