Hitherto known from the Russian Primorsk Territory, NE China and Korea, this bug is newly recorded from Japan (Honshu). This is very similar to H. obtusa (WALKER, 1868) in habitus, but differing in the humeral dilation of pronotum (Fig. 3), slight Y- or T-shaped protuberance on scutellum, shape of male pygofer, female abdominal terminalia, etc. (cf. KERZHNER, 1972; JosIFov and KERZHNER, 1978). Although the host plant has been unknown, some specimens were collected from tree-trunks of Prunus grayana MAXIM. ( Rosaceae ), as written on the labels by late Mr. I. HIURA.
