Lectotype (Hepper in Watsonia 2: 81. 1951; Jeanmonod & Bocquet in Candollea 38: 287. 1983): Herb. Linn. No. 583.18, middle specimen ( LINN) .

Current name: Silene nutans L. View in CoL ( Caryophyllaceae ).

Note: The sheet designated as the type by Hepper bears three specimens, to the middle of which Jeanmonod & Bocquet restricted the type choice. The same authors (in Candollea 38: 394, f. 4. 1983) also illustrate the type.
