Type material. Holotype, ♂ ( KUAM), TURKEY, Adıyaman Province, Gerger Dist. , Budaklı Vill., (38°00'45"N 39°00'12"E), 563 m a.s.l., pitfall traps, 22.08.2017 – 31.07.2018, leg. E.A. Yağmur & S. Örgel. GoogleMaps Paratypes. 2 ♂ ( KUAM), same data as for the holotype GoogleMaps .

Etymology. The new species is dedicated to the entomologist Dr. Sinan Anlaş who made a great contribution to our knowledge of Turkish staphylinids and who is a friend of the authors.

Diagnosis. The male of B. anlasi sp. nov. is most similar to that of B. cypria Chatzaki & Panayiotou, 2010 in having a bipartite retrolateral tibial apophysis. However, males of the two species may be distinguished by the length of the two tibial apophyses of the palp, which is about a quarter of the length of the cymbium (vs. one third in B. cypria ), the broad cymbial retrolateral extension, and the straight pointed end of the conductor ( Figs 2 View FIGURE 2 , 3 View FIGURE 3 ) (vs. hook-shaped in B. cypria, Panayiotou et al. 2010 : fig 15).

Description. Male (holotype). Measurements: TL: 6.2, PL: 3.5, PW: 2.5, OL: 2.7, OW:1.7, Eye sizes and inter-distances: AME 0.12, ALE 0.16, PME 0.15, PLE 0.13, AME–AME 0.08, AME–ALE 0.01, AME–PME 0.13, PME– PME 0.03, PME–PLE 0.05, PLE–ALE 0.05. Length of leg segments: I: 7.5 (2.1, 1.0, 1.9, 1.5, 1.0); II: 7.5 (2.1, 1.2, 1.7, 1.4, 1.1); III: 6.8 (2.2, 0.9, 1.2, 1.4, 1.1); IV: 10 (2.4, 1.5, 2.1, 2.8, 1.2). Carapace light brown with distinct fovea ( Fig. 1A View FIGURE 1 ), abdomen with triangular scutum, oval, covered with yellowish-grey pubescence. Legs uniformly light brown. Chelicerae, sternum, labium and maxillae light brown ( Fig. 1 View FIGURE 1 ). Chelicerae with lateral condyles. Cheliceral promargin with 4 and retromargin with 2 teeth. Eyes in two rows, anterior row slightly recurved, posterior row slightly procurved with oblique PME ( Fig. 1A View FIGURE 1 ).

Palp as in Figs 2 View FIGURE 2 and 3 View FIGURE 3 : retrolateral tibial apophysis (RTA) with two arms, one dorsolaterally directed and with posteriorly curved tip, and one retrolaterally directed, straight, anteriorly pointed, each arm almost one quarter of cymbium length; patella without apophysis; cymbium with broad retrolateral posterior extension (Ce); conductor with trapezoidal membranous anterior bladder (a), sickle-shaped guiding structure (b) surrounding the membranous anterior bladder, and straight pointed posterior end (c); embolus long, filiform, originates at ∼ 6:00 o’clock and makes almost a full circle of the tegulum.

Female: Unknown.

Distribution. Known only from the type locality in Adıyaman Province, southeastern Turkey ( Fig. 17 View FIGURE 17 ).
