Genus Berinda Roewer, 1928 View in CoL
Type species. Berinda amabilis Roewer, 1928 View in CoL , from Crete, by original designation ( Roewer 1928: 106).
Diagnosis. Compared to the other genera of the Zelotinae , the members of this genus are of medium size (total length of ♂ 4.02–7.8 mm and of ♀ 5.7–10.2 mm). Species of Berinda can be diagnosed by: 1) a strongly developed conductor protruding ventrally; 2) a long filiform embolus; and 3) a large epigynal hood anterior to the copulatory ducts and spermathecae ( Panayiotou et al. 2010; Lissner & Chatzaki 2016). Males have distinctive species-specific retrolateral tibial apophysis and in some a patellar apophysis may be present too.
