Genus Lethocerus Mayr, 1853 View in CoL

These are the largest bugs in Israel. Whereas Lethocerus patruelis is rather common, L. cordofanus has only been collected several times in the region. Lethocerus bugs are eaten in south-east Asia, where they are sold fresh or canned (De Foliart & Gene 2002; Hanboonsong et al. 2013). Perez Goodwyn (2006) provides an illustrated key to species of the genus Lethocerus .
