Steleops enderleini sp. nov.
( Figs 138–144 View FIGURES 138–144 )
Diagnosis. Belonging to group buitrerensis . Unlike the other species in the group (except S. viridis ), it has a greater number of teeth on the left margin of the hypandrium (approximately 20) ( Fig. 143 View FIGURES 138–144 ), these are narrower and mainly sharp apically. Due to the shape of the phallosome and the hypandrium, it is more related to S. tenerife , but unlike it, it has vertex with cream areas and the length-to-width ratio of the compound eye is 1.32, compared to that of S. tenerife , which it is almost as long as it is wide (0.92). On the other hand, it has phallosome with well-pigmented right paramere and the left one broadly rounded ( Fig. 144 View FIGURES 138–144 ).
Male. Color (in plate and 80% ethanol). Head ( Fig. 140 View FIGURES 138–144 ) light yellow, with dark brown “Y”-shaped spot from the ocular sulcus to the anteclypeus, labrum brown. Dark brown compound eyes. Forewing ( Fig. 138 View FIGURES 138–144 ) hyalines, veins brown, anal cell basally pale brown and pterostigma pale brown, darker apically. Hindwings ( Fig. 139 View FIGURES 138–144 ) hyalines, veins brown. Epiproct and paraprocts light brown. Hypandrium brown. Legs pale brown.
Morphology. As in diagnosis, plus the following: Head ( Fig. 140 View FIGURES 138–144 ): H/MxW: 1.23; compound eyes large, pedunculated, H/D: 2.88; IO/MxW: 0.76. Vertex V–shaped wide, below upper level of compound eyes, slightly emarginated. Outer cusp of lacinial tips with four denticles; Mx4/Mx2: 2.10. Forewings ( Fig. 138 View FIGURES 138–144 ): L/W: 2.61. Pterostigma pedunculated: lp/wp: 4.42, areola postica: al/ah: 1.63. Hindwings ( Fig. 139 View FIGURES 138–144 ): l/w: 2.80. Hypandrium asymmetrical ( Fig. 143 View FIGURES 138–144 ), medial dense field with numerous setae on tubercles grouped longitudinally, with two well-sclerotized medial acuminate processes on either side of the setose field; left margin of medial band with 20 teeth of uniform size and mainly sharp apex; right margin with abundant small serrations and small posterior teeth. Phallosome rhomboid, asymmetric ( Fig. 144 View FIGURES 138–144 ), with well-developed parameres, the right one well sclerotized; aedeagus apically curved to the right. Epiproct ( Fig. 141 View FIGURES 138–144 ) projected on the clunium, rhomboid, with narrower anterior area and rounded apex. Paraprocts ( Fig. 142 View FIGURES 138–144 ) oval with sub straight apical process, shorter than the rest of the paraproct, apically curved gently inwards, sensory fields with 37 trichobothria on basal rosettes.
