Steleops cumbrensis sp. nov.
( Figs 200–206 View FIGURES 200–206 )
Diagnosis. Unlike S. lichenatus , S. ortegae , S. plenitudensis and S. bolivianus sp. nov. this has the hypandrium proximally with rounded areas near the margins, each with numerous short spines, left side, posterodistally with two elongate processes, one of them with apical teeth, right side distally crenulated ( Fig. 205 View FIGURES 200–206 ).
Color (On plate and 80% ethanol). Head ( Fig. 202 View FIGURES 200–206 ) brown, with darker spots on vertex, ocellar tubercle and genae. Black compound eyes. Thorax light brown with dark brown sutures and spots, forewings proximally almost completely brown except for a hyaline stripe in the middle ( Fig. 200 View FIGURES 200–206 ), distally brown with large hyaline areas on the edge of the wing cells. Pterostigma dark brown. Veins brown, with greenish-yellow, small, and rounded spots on the radial and medial veins, like spur veins. Hindwings ( Fig. 201 View FIGURES 200–206 ) hyalines to smoky brown, with basal brown spot, and veins brown. Epiproct ( Fig. 204 View FIGURES 200–206 ), paraprocts ( Fig. 203 View FIGURES 200–206 ) and phallosome ( Fig. 206 View FIGURES 200–206 ) brown. Legs light cream, coxae proximally brown, femora basally brown, with small brown spots on the medial part, tibiae with three small brown spots in the distal area.
Morphology. As in diagnosis, plus the following: Head ( Fig. 202 View FIGURES 200–206 ): H/MxW: 0.98; compound eyes large, oval, not pedunculated, H/D: 2.61; IO/MxW: 0.92. Vertex slightly emarginated, below upper level of compound eyes. Outer cusp of lacinial tips with two or no defined denticle; Mx4/Mx2: 1.75. Forewings ( Fig. 200 View FIGURES 200–206 ): L/W: 2.24. Pterostigma: lp/wp: 3.00, apically wider, with R 1 forming a right angle curvature; vein 1A with two pocket-like protuberances, areola postica: al/ah: 1.45. Hindwings ( Fig. 201 View FIGURES 200–206 ): l/w: 2.50. Hypandrium asymmetrical ( Fig. 205 View FIGURES 200–206 ), proximally with rounded areas near the margins, each with numerous short spines, left side, posterodistally with two elongate processes, one of them with apical teeth, right side distally crenulated. Phallosome ( Fig. 206 View FIGURES 200–206 ) rhomboid, with phallobase broadly rounded anteriorly; left paramere is flattened, widened, spatula-like and apically rounded; aedeagus narrow, wider basally, apically truncated, partially fused to the left paramere. Right paramere obliterated. Epiproct subtrapezoidal ( Fig. 204 View FIGURES 200–206 ) projected onto the clunium, with two small, rounded lateral apical lobes.Paraprocts ( Fig. 203 View FIGURES 200–206 ) with dorsal lobes in lateral view, with narrow hook-shaped lateroapical process, tapering, shorter than the body of the paraproct, strongly curved basally, projecting upwards, sensory fields with 19 trichobothria on basal rosettes.
