Basionym:— Polygonum asymmetricum Givulescu & Ţicleanu (1978: 48) .
Type:— ROMANIA. Județul MaramureȘ: Chiuzbaia ( holotype, P –24762, Muzeul Național de Geologie, Institutul Geologic al României, BucureȘti, Romania, figured by Givulescu & Ţicleanu, 1978: fig. 5).
Stratigraphy:— Upper Miocene (Tortonian = Pannonian G / H).
Status:— Leaves.

Note:— On the basis of the morphology of fossil leaves Polygonum asymmetricum Givulescu & Ţicleanu is transferred to Persicaria .
