Sufrútice hasta de 30 cm, erguido. Hojas lineares, herbáceas, con pocas glándulas esferoidales. Brácteas 10-15 × 4-8 mm, ovadas, dentadas o lobadas, ± agudas, con dientes Ṣ 3,5 mm, nervios marcados por el envés, ciliadas, con pelos Ṣ 1,5 mm, a veces coloreadas. Cáliz 5,5-6,5 mm. Corola Ṣ 10 mm, generalmente color púrpura.
Matorrales aclarados, madroñales y pinares; 160-440 m. V-VII. Mitad S de Portugal. Port.: Ag AAl BAl BB E R. N.v., port.: azeitoneira, erva-azeitoneira, erva-das-azeitonas, tomilho-peludo.
