Genus Florus Distant View in CoL
Type species: Florus insolitus Distant, 1884:301 . Monotypic. Florus : Carvalho 1957:46 (catalog); Schaffner & Carvalho 1985 A:312 (key to species).
Diagnosis. Small species with an oval or rounded shape and a very broad lateral embolium. Antennal segment I with the same length as the vertex width. Pronotum conspicuously convex and curled towards the head and lateral margins.
Remarks. Schaffner & Carvalho (1985) produced a key to the six known species of Florus . Florus peruanus Carvalho, 1985 , and F. panamensis Carvalho & Costa, 1995 , were added later.
