Diagnosis: A micropterous, medium-sized Gripopterygidae from Argentinean Patagonia. It is distinguished from other Patagonian species by acuminated paraprocts and a rectangular pronotum with no ornamentation in immatures, and micropterous wings in both male and female adults. Furthermore, male genitalia are characterized by the rounded apex of the central sclerite, without any teeth or spine, and the indistinguishable posterior sclerite on tergum X.
Adult male description. Holotype. Head: Dark brown, with a lighter area between ocelli extending laterally towards the eyes ( Fig. 5A), dorsally covered by small, hair-like setae, except for two oval, bare areas in front of paired ocelli. Three ocelli; compound eyes medium size, black. Cephalic suture a shallow V; vertex rough ( Fig. 5A). Antennae brown, covered by short, thin, hair-like setae; as long as four max. head length, scape about as long as wide, pedicel smaller, slightly wider and shorter than first annulus; first annulus the longest, second annulus the shortest, remaining ones progressively thinner and slightly longer. Clypeus and labrum dark brown, the latter with a medial light area; labrum trapezoidal, covered with hair-like setae, anterior margin convex, lateral margins slightly divergent anteriorly, angles rounded. Maxillary palps brown, five-segmented; third and fifth segments the longest, fifth slightly longer than third and with a white spot at the tip, first segment the shortest. Labial palps brown, three-segmented; third segment slightly longer than second and with a white spot at the tip, first one the shortest.
Thorax: Dorsally brown, surface covered with small, hair-like setae. Pronotum about 1.1 times as wide as long, maximum width about 0.8 times head maximum width; surface rough; anterior and posterior margins slightly convex, lateral margins straight, angles rounded. Meso and metanotum darker than pronotum, with a pair of small wings ( Fig. 5A). Meso- and metanotum wider than long.
Legs: Brown, thin, covered by typical short, hair-like setae and a few straight, longer hair-like setae perpendicular to leg surface, femora darker at apex, hair-like setae denser at both sides of flexor margin and on apex; tibiae darker at base, no tibial spurs, setae denser at apex; tarsi setae longer at apex; with a few ventral short spine-like setae; first tarsomere with a ventral white spot; tarsomeres proportions as follows: 3.5:1:4.5; tarsal claws acute.
