Artbeschreibung: Kopfdurchmesser 2-4 cm. Blüten bis in den frühen Nachmittag geöffnet, hellgelb, höchstens 2/3 so lang wie die Hüllblätter, diese anfangs rötlich berandet. Staubbeutel braun. Frucht mit Schnabel nur 1,2-1,8 cm lang, randliche auf den Rippen stachelig.
Blütezeit: 5-7
Standort und Verbreitung in der Schweiz: Wegränder, Kiesflächen, Waldschläge / kollin(-montan) / JN, M, VS
Verbreitung global: Mitteleuropäisch
